When I woke up this morning
And sat up in my warm bed,
I heard multitudes of birds
Singing their sweet morning song.
The blue birds and the robins
Thrushes and the chickadee
Who sing their sunrise medley.
Two lovebirds, one to one
There together in the sun
Close together as they sing
With their brightly colored wings
Two lovebirds holding close
Beside a Cardinal rose
Lively in their love
Blessed by God above
Two lovebirds biding time
One of pretty lime
One of sharp yellow
Like a bright rainbow
Two lovebirds, one by one
There together in the sun
In even stormy weather
A love that lasts forever
